NUP are installed as locating bearings to accomodate reversing axial forces.  They have two lips on the outer ring and one fixed lip and one loose lip on the inner ring.

Cylindrical Roller Bearings

The cylindrical rollers in this range of bearings cater for maximum radial stress/ load distribution to both end of the cylindrical like rollers. The use of cylindrical rollers would mean that applications for this range of bearings become more rigid and therefore more sensitive to any misalignments.
